Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty of upper and or lower lids, is a cosmetic surgery procedure to pretty up the eyelids.

Eyelid surgery rejuvenates the area surrounding your eyes, by removing sagging skin (wrinkles), excess of fat (puffiness, bags) around the eyes.

Surgery of the drooping eyelid consists in removing the excess of skin from the upper eyelids. Scars are almost invisible. Placed at mid-height of the upper eyelid and under eyelashes for lower eyelid. 

Blepharoplasty can be performed under local or general anesthesia. It lasts 45-90 minutes. it is a one day surgery (ambulatory), sometimes a night in aesthetic clinic in Bordeaux may be necessary. It is a very painless procedure, simple painkiller is enough.

During the first two days after eyelid surgery, it is advisable to cool the eyelids and hydrate the eyes with moist compresses with cold physiological saline. This will help decrease swelling and bruising of the eyelids. 

Stitches are removed 4 to 7 days after the eyelid operation by your surgeon.
